How NFC can change your personal and professional life
We have only begun to explore the endless possibilities that NFC offers, but here are a few examples on how you can start using NFC today to streamline your life:
Business Professionals: Upgrade your business card
Send everything that would normally be on your business card, but without the risk of someone losing it or forgetting about it later. Include your name, address, website, social media handles, and whatever else you deem important so that you make your first impression the best impression.
E-commerce: Connect buyers to your site instantly
Want to share your work, gallery, or online shop with someone but don’t want them to have to type out your entire website handle, or navigate them to where your shop is? Direct them to the proper location the first time and connect buyers quicker.
Musicians, DJs, Podcasters: Share content when fans quicker
Does your show or artist name have five syllables, special characters, or a great pun in the name? Never miss another fan connection because of spelling! Instantly send your Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Spotify, Podcast link, or whatever audio streaming platform you use. Even keep a separate card to send them links to unreleased material!
Promoters: Forget the paper flyers
Tired of wasting time and money on paper event fliers? Is your invite getting lost with all those other notifications on Facebook? Send the invite directly to your client. Link directly to your event on Facebook, ticket selling website, and even add discount codes for those who buy on the spot!
Personal: NFC applications at home
Turn on the lights when you get home, use a key card to enter your house, store your bitcoins offline, or turn off the lights when you leave the house – these are just some of the practical ways you can use NFC to improve your everyday life. We’ve only scratched the surface on the true versatility of NFC home application!
Setting up your slimtech Gear Co. NFC capable wallet or business card:
First, you’ll need to download an NFC read/write application from the Android app store or the NFC read application from the iTunes store. Our favorites are NFC Tools + NFC Tasks for Android and GoToTags for iPhone’s (NFC is only compatible with iPhone 7 and up).
Then make sure the NFC is enabled on your Android device. You can do this by going to settings and looking for the NFC option. iPhone users can only, at the moment, access NFC through applications.
Once enabled, hold your smartphone with 4cm of your slimtech Gear Co. wallet or business card.
Now use your NFC Tools or NFC Tasks application to set all kinds of commands for your new smart wallet or business card. The possibilities are endless!
